3D modelling techniques (Workshop)


This workshop is aimed to help you understand how the 3D modeling process works. In this course, we will teach you how to set up your tools and how to get an efficient workflow during production.

 After you understand all of the basics we will start exploring different methods of modeling to accomplish different tasks and by the end of the course you will have a complete set of beautiful models created by you.

This course has being designed for people that already knows navigation in 3D space. But if you don’t have this please let us know to give you a free lesson about navigation in 3D space before starting the workshop.

WEEK 1.- 3D Modeling tools.

This is the first class of our modeling workshop. In this section we will be showing you how to manipulate and organize the most powerful tools used in the standard modeling process. 

WEEK 2.- Modeling Machines.

The second class of our course. Here we will be building machinery parts using some of the tools discussed in our previous lesson. The main project will consist on building your own mechanical robot.

WEEK 3.- Weapons and accessories.

In this class we will learn the importance of organizing and cleaning our models, but before that we will be creating some cool props and accessories that will help to enhance your model.

WEEK 4.- Building a complete scene.

This class is all about modeling interior objects. In this chapter we will be creating an environment for our robot. This class is important because we will be showing you tips and tricks that are going to take your 3D scenes to the next level.

Week 5: Appliying lights and materials.

This section is all about applying lights and materials for review. This will allow you to define placement (depths) of 3D objects using shadows and identify areas that may need some refinement.

Week 6 : Modeling Humanoid characters

This is our last session. Here we will be creating a render of our final scene and at the same time we will give you a brief introduction to the process of modeling humanoid characters using different methods.

  • Pay tuition according with the program
  • Read instructions and policies about our training
  • Review materials needed to complete the course
  • Start learning!
  • Review the application and submit again.
  • If the reason is because there is not enough room in the course you can change your application to the next upcoming course available.

Technical requirements:

  • High speed internet service (1M recommended)
  • PC or MAC with the following specifications : Recent generation processor 32 ( 64-bit Recommended), 2 GB in RAM Memory (4 recommended), 100 GB free space in hard drive.

    Maxon Cinema4D

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (Free)
  • Microsoft Office/Oracle Open Office (Free)
