This intro to 3D animation workshop has been designed with beginning animators in mind and because of that reason we will introduce you to this amazing activity using the most powerful Software available on the planet.

This workshop includes class instruction taught by mentors, lab sessions and pre-recorded material that will help you to better understand all of the concepts in this class.

At the end of the workshop, you will have all the main knowledge and the discipline to continue your journey as a digital animator and make your ideas move!

Curriculum

WEEK 1.- Introduction to Animation (with Maya or Houdini).

This animation workshop will show you how to use the basic animation tools in this chapter. At the end of this training session you should be able to create your first animation project.

WEEK 2.- Animation tools.

This class is all about animation fundamentals. In this class we will make a ball roll and bounce so that you can start to understand the importance of interpolation, tangents and curves.
Project : Creating your oun animation scene.

WEEK 3.- Animation “Workflow”. Shaders in Maya or Houdini

In this part of the workshop you will learn how to access and apply materials to your 3d objects so that you can latter animate them.

WEEK 4.- Animating the scene using lights, cameras and actions..

This is one of the most exiting classes in the workshop. This session will teach you how to use cameras and lights in Maya or Houdini so that you can start creating your own short films in no time.

Project : You are the director.

Week 5: Introduction to rigging, parenting and hierarchies.

In this chapter we will talk about the rigging concept and how this process will allow you to manipulate your characters. Parenting, hierarchy, bones and joints are the core in this session.

Week 6 :Rigging and Animating a robotic arm.

This is the last class of our 3d animation workshop and in this session we will show you how to apply bones and skin to your characters so that you can start moving them the way you like.

 

Requirements

  • You must be the age of majority in your country in order to apply. If you are a minor your parent or guardian can apply for you.

  • Pay the application fee
  • Wait for a response (Up to 48 hours)

  • Pay tuition according with the program
  • Read instructions and policies about our training
  • Review materials needed to complete the course
  • Start learning!
  • Review the application and submit again.
  • If the reason is because there is not enough room in the course you can change your application to the next upcoming course available.

Technical requirements:

  • High speed internet service (1M recommended)
  • PC or MAC with the following specifications : Recent generation processor 32 ( 64-bit Recommended), 2 GB in RAM Memory (4 recommended), 100 GB free space in hard drive.

Software Requirements (Online only):

  • Adobe Photoshop (It’s not mandatory) 30 days trial available form adobe’s website.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (Free)
  • Microsoft Office/Oracle Open Office (Free)
